As an Independent Door & Hardware Consultant the specification is prepared to the products that the Architect has chosen from any company. There is no limitation to the factory chosen by the Architect or their design and more importantly there is no one to protect during the bidding phase. With dual knowledge and certification from both worlds of European and American
Codes and Standards, the Architect has the choice to go with an American Hardware Specification or a European Specification or a mix of both standards Specifications done by an independent consultant is supported from design stages to execution
SCHEMATIC DESIGN
Scope
Preparation of Preliminary Door Schedule which is coordinated with Fire Life Safety, Acoustics, Access Control /Security Plans and Interior Design.
Review all Fire Escape Routes and ensure compliance with International and Local Fire Code Regulations.
Preparation of Generic Hardware Sets which are coordinated with Fire Life Safety, Acoustics, Access Control /Security Plans and Interior Design.
Design of Door Elevation Drawings for BOH Areas.
Design of draft Technical Specification CSI Division 08 – Doors and Hardware
Quantify Doors and Hardware for draft Bill of Quantities
Deliverables
Preliminary Door Schedule (Including Room Names/numbers, Door Type, Door Leaf, Location, Door Handing, Fire Rating, Acoustic Rating, Access Control Requirements, Hardware Set Type)
Generic Hardware Sets which includes list and description and quantity of hardware required for same openings and linked into the Door Schedule.

Scope
Review and incorporate Client’s comments on Schematic Design.
Detailed Door Schedule which is coordinated with Fire Life Safety, Acoustics, Access Control /Security Plans and Interior Design.
Detailed Hardware Sets which are coordinated with Fire Life Safety, Acoustics, Access Control /Security Plans and Interior Design.
Coordinate with ID their chosen door hardware manufacturer and prepare technical submission and catalogue cuts.

Design of Door Details for BOH and FOH Doors
Design and coordinate with FLS, Acoustics and Access Control, CSI Section 0800 Doors and Hardware – for Steel, Wood and Door Hardware.
Quantify Doors and Hardware for Bill of Quantity.
